Introduction

Mirroring
Most data replication solutions rely on mirroring technology for business continuity in the event of hardware failure. However, in production environments with resilient computer platforms, hardware failure is rare and most disasters are caused by human or application error.
Mirroring solutions fail to protect data against user error as these changes are propagated to the standby system as well. For instance, a dropped table on the production server is instantly replicated as a dropped table on the standby server. VeREWIND on the other hand, by utilizing delayed replication or controlled rewind allows immediate recovery of the dropped table.
GUI Console
VeREWIND is controlled via a friendly Windows based management console which allows concurrent monitoring of multiple database systems from a single screen.

- Database status indication. At a glance the state of each database can be determined with alarm activation for various conditions.
- Encrypted password protection with multiple access levels clearly indicated by colour frames (Administrator - red, Operator - blue etc).

Offsite tape storage is an integral part of good Disaster Recovery planning but is not practical for most simple data recovery. Using VeREWIND any corrupt table could be restored in seconds.
